Welcome to the official site of the Southwest Region Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.©), established April 1989 to serve the membership in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and the Southern portions of Kansas, Missouri, and New Mexico. The membership is fostered at the local level with a quarterly newsletter, study groups, a prayer network, a video lending library for small gatherings, and retreats and youth outreach programs. The Region is served by an A.R.E. Coordinator and a Regional Core Team powered by volunteers. Facts about the Southwest Region

The A.R.E. located in Virginia Beach, VA is the international headquarters for the work of Edgar Cayce (1877-1945), considered the Father of Holistic Medicine, and the most documented psychic in the 20th Century with over 14,000 readings housed online. Founded in 1931, the A.R.E. consists of people from all walks of life and spiritual traditions that have found meaningful and life transformative insights from the psychic readings of Edgar Cayce.

In addition to local regional activities, the A.R.E. Headquarters offers membership benefits and services, a bi-monthly magazine, a newsletter, publications, excerpts from the Cayce readings, conferences, international tours, a massage school curriculum, a retreat type camp for children and adults as well as A.R.E. contacts around the world. The A.R.E. also maintains an affiliation with Atlantic University, offering a Master's Program in Transpersonal Studies.
